Web browsers on your iPhone will typically use a default search engine for queries that you type into the bar at the top of the screen. In Edge these searches occur in Bing, so you may be wondering how to change the default search engine in the Edge iPhone app.
Like many of the more popular browsers on the iPhone, Microsoft Edge provides a number of different options and settings that you can use to customize the app.
If you type a search term into the address bar at the top of the screen you can perform a search for that term. If you’ve never changed the search engine setting, then this search will occur in Bing.
But if you would prefer to use a different search engine for this, you have the ability to do so.
Our guide below will show you how to change Edge’s default search engine on an iPhone.
How to Change the Default Search Engine in the Edge iPhone App
- Open Edge.
- Touch the three dots button.

Current iPhone note
Menu names can move between iOS releases. If a setting is not where an older model-specific article places it, use the search field in Settings and verify the feature name before assuming it was removed.
