Changing the iPhone’s device name affects how it identifies itself in features such as AirDrop, Personal Hotspot, Finder, and some network or device lists.
- Open Settings > General.
- Tap About.
- Tap Name.
- Delete the old name and enter the new one.
- Tap Done or leave the screen to save the change.
Renaming the iPhone does not change your Apple Account name, contact card, phone number, or carrier account. Nearby devices may need a moment to refresh the new name.
Before removing originals or changing an important setting, verify the result on the iPhone so you can correct the change while the original information is still available.
