A shared note lets several people edit the same note instead of sending separate copies back and forth. Collaboration works best when everyone is using iCloud for Notes.
Invite someone to collaborate on a note
- Open Notes and select the note you want to share.
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose the collaboration option rather than sending a static copy.
- Set the access options, such as whether invited people can make changes.
- Choose Messages, Mail, or another sharing method and send the invitation.
After someone joins, changes can appear in the shared note as participants edit it. The collaboration controls also let you review participants and change access later.
If collaboration is not available
Move the note to an iCloud Notes folder if it is stored only “On My iPhone” or in an account that does not support the same collaboration features. It is also worth checking that Notes is enabled for iCloud and that the people you invite are using an Apple Account that can access the shared note.
