Most current Beats headphones and earbuds can connect to an iPhone through a nearby setup prompt or through Bluetooth settings. Charge the Beats device and turn on Bluetooth before you start.
Connect Beats With the Setup Prompt
- Unlock the iPhone and go to the Home Screen.
- Turn on the Beats headphones or earbuds.
- Place them near the iPhone.
- Put them in pairing mode if required for the model.
- Tap Connect when the setup card appears.
- Follow any remaining instructions.
Connect Through Bluetooth Settings
- Open Settings > Bluetooth.
- Make sure Bluetooth is on.
- Put the Beats device in pairing mode.
- Tap its name when it appears under available devices.
If Beats Will Not Connect
Charge the headphones, move them close to the iPhone, and verify that they are actually in pairing mode. If they are currently connected to another nearby device, disconnecting there can help.

The location and behavior of the pairing button varies across Beats models. If the status light does not indicate pairing mode, use the instructions for your exact Beats model rather than repeatedly holding random buttons.
Forget and Re-Pair Only When Needed
If the headphones are listed in Bluetooth but repeatedly fail to connect, forgetting the device and pairing again can help. Do that after basic checks such as charging, distance, and current connections, because re-pairing is unnecessary when the problem is simply that the Beats are connected to another nearby device.
Rename Beats After Pairing
If you own several similar Bluetooth devices, giving the Beats a recognizable name in Bluetooth settings can make future connection troubleshooting much easier.
