You can show an iPhone on a television wirelessly with AirPlay or with a wired HDMI connection. The easiest choice depends on the TV and on whether your iPhone uses USB-C or Lightning.
- For a compatible smart TV or Apple TV, connect the TV and iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and select the TV or Apple TV.
- Enter the AirPlay code shown on the TV if one appears.
- For a wired connection, connect the appropriate USB-C-to-HDMI adapter or Lightning Digital AV Adapter to the iPhone, then connect an HDMI cable between the adapter and TV.
- Change the television to the HDMI input you connected.
Some streaming apps restrict screen mirroring or video output because of licensing rules. If the picture does not appear, try the app’s own AirPlay button or use its TV app instead.
