On iPhone, “create a group” can mean several things. For a reusable group of people, the Contacts app may support lists, while a conversation group is created in Messages.
- Open Contacts and look for the Lists view if you want to organize contacts.
- Create a new list and give it a useful name.
- Add the contacts you want to that list using the available controls.
- For a messaging group instead, open Messages, start a new message, and add multiple recipients.
A Contacts list does not automatically create a group text, and a Messages group does not reorganize your Contacts library.
