How to Enable or Disable Autofill in Safari on an iPhone 11

The steps in this article are going to show you how to turn on or turn off autofill for the Safari browser on your iPhone.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and choose the Safari option.
  3. Tap the Autofill button.
  4. Turn on or turn off the info or credit card options on this menu.

Mobile Web browsing usage, such as through the Safari browser on your iPhone, continues to increase each year. This means that more and more people are visiting websites on their mobile devices than on computers.

With this change comes the fact that many purchases and forms are filled out using mobile Web browsers. And while many smartphone owners have become more proficient in typing information on a mobile keyboard, typing your personal information and credit card information can be a hassle.

There’s a setting in the Safari browser on your iPhone that can automatically fill these fields when Safari detects them. Our guide below will show you how to enable or disable this option on your device depending on whether or not you would like to use it.

How to Change the Autofill Settings in Safari on Your iPhone

The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 11 in iOS 13.3. Note that if you choose to enable autofill for either your information or your credit card information that you will need to select your contact or add a credit card before Safari will be able to use autofill.

Step 1: Touch the Settings icon.

Step 2: Scroll down and choose the Safari option.

Step 3: Touch the Autofill button.

Step 4: Tap the button to the right of Use Contact Info or Credit Cards to enable or disable autofill for those option.

Note that if you elect to enable autofill for either of these pieces of information that you will need to tap the button underneath each option to enter the associated information to use with autofill.
