If your AirPods were paired with an Apple device signed in to your Apple Account before they were lost, the Find My app can show their current or last known location. Available features depend on the AirPods model and whether the Find My network was enabled before they went missing.
Find AirPods from your iPhone
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap Devices.
- Select your AirPods.
- Check their location on the map.
- Tap Play Sound if they are nearby, or use Find Nearby when your AirPods and iPhone support it.
- Use Directions or Lost Mode when those options are appropriate and available.
If the AirPods are offline
Find My may show the last known location, Offline, or No location found. If the Find My network was enabled beforehand on a supported model, the network can provide additional location information even when the AirPods are not directly connected to your iPhone.
Prepare for the next time
With the AirPods connected, check their settings and make sure Find My Network is enabled when your model supports it. Supported models can also use Notify When Left Behind.
Before changing anything else
Test the specific feature again after completing the steps above. If the problem remains, avoid installing unknown “fix,” cleaner, security, or utility apps simply because an advertisement promises an immediate solution. Check the iPhone’s software version, network or account status when relevant, and any messages shown by iOS before moving to more disruptive troubleshooting.
If a change could erase data, affect an account, or alter cellular service, make sure you understand the consequence and have a current backup when possible. Apple can also change feature availability between models and software releases, so a missing option does not necessarily indicate a fault with the phone.
