If an AirTag is linked to your Apple Account, the Find My app is the main place to locate it. What you can do next depends on whether the AirTag is nearby and whether your iPhone supports Precision Finding.
Find your AirTag
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap Items.
- Select the AirTag you want to locate.
- Check its location on the map.
- If it is nearby, use Play Sound. On supported iPhone models, use Find Nearby when that option is available and follow the distance and direction guidance.
If the AirTag is not nearby, Find My can show the most recently reported location. You can also use the lost-item options so the Find My network can help locate it when another compatible Apple device detects it.
An AirTag that belongs to someone else does not appear in your Items list as if it were yours. If your iPhone warns that an unknown AirTag is moving with you, use the safety instructions in that alert to identify or disable the tracker.
