How to Get Out of Incognito on iPhone: A Simple Step-by-Step Guide

July 8, 2025 By Steven

Get Out of Incognito on iPhone is easiest when you use the iPhone feature that directly controls the task instead of changing several unrelated settings.

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Tap the Tabs button.
  3. Switch from the Private tab group to your regular tab group.
  4. Open an existing normal tab or create a new one.
  5. Confirm that the Private indicator is no longer shown.

Leaving Private Browsing does not necessarily close the private tabs. Close them separately if you do not want them available the next time Private Browsing is opened.

Private Browsing reduces the local history Safari keeps for those tabs, but it does not make activity invisible to websites, network administrators, internet providers, or services you sign in to. Use it for local browsing separation, not anonymity.

When finished, verify the result in the app or setting you changed before making additional adjustments.
