Pause Location on Find My iPhone is easiest when you use the iPhone feature that directly controls the task instead of changing several unrelated settings.
- Decide whether you want to stop sharing with one person or disable location sharing more broadly.
- For one person, open Find My > People, select the person, and choose Stop Sharing My Location.
- For broader sharing, open Find My > Me and turn off Share My Location if that is your intent.
- Verify the sharing status in Find My afterward.
There is no supported 'pause' switch that secretly freezes your location at an old point. Turning off Location Services or signing out of your Apple Account has wider effects and is not a good substitute for managing sharing directly.
