A full iCloud backup restore is performed during iPhone setup. If the iPhone is already set up, you generally need to erase it before you can restore the entire device from an iCloud backup.
- Start at the Hello screen and follow setup until you reach the transfer/data options.
- Choose the option to restore or download from an iCloud Backup.
- Sign in to your Apple Account.
- Choose the appropriate backup by checking its date and size.
- Stay connected to Wi-Fi and power while the restore begins. Apps, photos, and other cloud content can continue downloading afterward.
Before making the change, make sure the iPhone is running a current iOS release and that you know any passcode, Apple Account, carrier, or app credentials the feature may require. If the labels on your screen do not exactly match these steps, use Settings search to find the named feature rather than choosing a similarly named control. Apple occasionally moves settings between iOS releases.
