How to Share Contacts on iPhone: A Step-by-Step Guide

July 4, 2025 By Steven

Share Contacts on iPhone is easiest when you use the iPhone feature that directly controls the task instead of changing several unrelated settings.

  1. Open Contacts and select the person whose information you want to share.
  2. Tap Share Contact.
  3. Choose which contact fields to include if prompted.
  4. Select Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or another sharing method.
  5. Choose the recipient and send the contact card.

Review the fields before sharing. A contact card can contain more than a phone number, including email addresses, home addresses, birthdays, or notes.

If you want to share only a phone number, it may be safer to copy and send that number rather than the entire contact card. Always review the contact fields because notes and addresses can contain information you did not intend to disclose.

When finished, verify the result in the app or setting you changed before making additional adjustments.
