You can share your current or live location from a Messages conversation, provided location sharing is available for the contact and your iPhone settings.
Steps
- Open Messages and select the conversation.
- Tap the person’s name or the conversation details at the top.
- Choose the available location-sharing option, such as sharing your location or sending your current location.
- If you choose ongoing sharing, select the duration when prompted.
A current-location pin represents where you were when you sent it, while live location sharing can update as you move. You can stop ongoing sharing later from the conversation or from Find My.
Only share live location with people you trust. When you no longer need ongoing sharing, review the conversation or Find My and stop it rather than assuming it ended automatically.
