The easiest way to move contacts between iPhones is usually to use the same Apple Account with iCloud Contacts. Quick Start can also transfer data when setting up a replacement iPhone.
Steps
- On the old iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, choose iCloud, and make sure Contacts is enabled.
- Sign in to the new iPhone with the same Apple Account.
- Enable Contacts in iCloud on the new iPhone.
- Keep both phones online while the contact list synchronizes.
If contacts are stored in Google, Exchange, or another account, add that account to the new iPhone instead. Check which account owns the contacts before assuming they are stored in iCloud.
If you are setting up a brand-new replacement iPhone, Quick Start can move much more than contacts and is often the better choice. Use contact syncing when you specifically need the same address book on both phones.
