Quick Start is designed to move the overall contents and settings of an old iPhone to a new one. It is the appropriate workflow when the goal is a replacement phone rather than a few files.
- Turn on the new iPhone and place it near the old iPhone with Bluetooth enabled.
- Follow the Quick Start prompt on the old iPhone and authenticate the setup.
- Choose whether to transfer directly from the old iPhone or download the data from iCloud.
- Keep both iPhones near each other and connected to power while the transfer runs.
- After setup finishes, verify important apps, photos, messages, and account access before erasing the old iPhone.
Some apps may continue downloading after the main setup completes, so give the new iPhone time to finish background restoration.
