There are several ways to move files between iPhones. AirDrop is convenient for a small selection of files, while iCloud Drive is better when you want the same files available on both devices.
Steps
- For AirDrop, open the file, tap Share, choose AirDrop, and select the receiving iPhone.
- Accept the transfer on the other iPhone if required.
- For iCloud Drive, save the file in the Files app under iCloud Drive.
- Sign in to the other iPhone with the appropriate Apple Account and open Files to access the synchronized item.
If you are replacing an entire iPhone, use Quick Start or a backup rather than manually sending every file. AirDrop and iCloud Drive are best for selected documents and media.
Nearby devices may need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled for AirDrop, and AirDrop receiving settings can affect whether the other iPhone appears. For large transfers, a full-device migration may be more efficient.
