Data roaming lets your iPhone use a partner cellular network when your carrier’s normal network is unavailable, especially while traveling. Your carrier may charge extra for roaming.
Steps
- Open Settings.
- Tap Cellular or Mobile Service.
- If you use more than one SIM, select the cellular line you want to change.
- Tap Cellular Data Options and turn on Data Roaming.
The exact menu names can vary by carrier and region. Before traveling internationally, check your plan’s roaming rates or travel-pass options so you do not accidentally create large data charges.
You can turn Data Roaming off again using the same menu after your trip. Wi-Fi can still provide internet access while cellular data roaming is disabled.
