Recent iPhone notifications appear in Notification Center, while current alerts can also be visible on the Lock Screen depending on your notification settings.
- From the Lock Screen, swipe up from the middle of the screen to reveal older notifications.
- From another screen, swipe down from the top center to open Notification Center.
- Tap a notification to open it, or use the available swipe and grouping controls to manage it.
- Open Settings > Notifications if an app’s alerts are missing.
Focus modes, Scheduled Summary, app-specific notification permissions, and notification grouping can change when and where alerts appear.
If you dismissed a notification, the originating app may still contain the underlying message or event even when Notification Center no longer shows the alert. Notification history on iPhone is not an unlimited permanent log.
