Unblocking a phone number on an iPhone 13 allows calls, messages, and FaceTime communication from that contact or number to reach you again, subject to your other filtering and Focus settings. Current iOS versions centralize blocked-contact management in Settings.
- Open Settings.
- Use Settings search for Blocked Contacts, or open the relevant Phone, Messages, or FaceTime settings and locate the blocked-contact list.
- Find the person or number you want to unblock.
- Swipe left on the entry or use the edit control, then tap Unblock.
- Return to the blocked list and confirm that the number is no longer present.
Unblocking does not restore old messages
Messages or calls that were blocked are not recreated when you unblock someone. The change affects future communication.
If calls still do not arrive
Check Focus modes, Silence Unknown Callers or other call-screening features, carrier spam filtering, and whether the caller is using the same number you unblocked.
If your screen looks different
The labels on your screen can vary slightly with the iOS version, region, carrier, or app version. If a menu name is different, use the search field in Settings or update the relevant app before assuming the feature has been removed. After making the change, return to the app or feature and test it so you can confirm that the result matches what you intended.
