How to View Stored Passwords in Safari on an iPhone 5

September 7, 2018 By Steven

Safari on an iPhone shares many of the same features that are present in its desktop alternative. One of these features is the ability to save passwords. When you enter a password into a field on a Web page, Safari will typically prompt you with the option to save that password. If you have elected to save a password, then it is stored on the device. This list of passwords is accessible from a menu in the iPhone’s settings.

Our guide below will direct you to this menu so that you can view, edit, or delete any of the passwords that you have saved to your iPhone’s Safari browser.

How to Find Passwords That Are Saved in Safari in iOS 9

The steps in this article were written using an iPhone 5, in iOS 9.3. These steps also work for other iPhone models that are using iOS 9. Note that you can also choose to delete a saved password, or edit a saved password from the screens that we will be accessing in the steps below. Additionally, if there is a passcode required to unlock your iPhone, then you will need to know that password before proceeding with the steps in this guide.

Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.

Step 2: Scroll down and select the Safari option.

Step 3: Scroll down and select the Password option.

Step 4: Enter the passcode required to unlock your device.

Step 5: Select the Web page for which you would like to view the saved password. If you wish to delete any of the passwords that you have saved to Safari, then you can tap the Edit button at the top-right corner of this screen, tap the circle to the left of the password that you wish to delete, then delete it.

Step 6: Locate the saved password in the Password field. If you wish to edit the existing password, then tap the Edit button at the top-right corner of the screen, then delete the old password, and enter the new one.

Blocking pop-ups is the desired behavior from a Web browser in almost every case. But if you need to disable a pop-up blocked to access a specific page or feature, then this article – https://webphonetech.com/turn-off-pop-blocker-safari-iphone-6/ – will show you how to do so.
