Yes. An iPhone can restrict specific websites with the built-in Screen Time content controls. This can be useful for a child’s device or for limiting access to selected sites on your own phone.
Block a specific website
- Open Settings and tap Screen Time.
- Turn on Screen Time if it is not already enabled.
- Open Content & Privacy Restrictions and enable the restrictions.
- Open the web-content restriction. Depending on the current iOS wording, it is located within the App Store, Media, Web & Games content controls.
- Choose the option that limits adult websites.
- Under the section for sites that should never be allowed, tap Add Website.
- Enter the website address you want to block.
Screen Time can also be configured to allow only approved websites, which is much more restrictive than blocking a few addresses.
For parental controls, set a Screen Time passcode that the child does not know. Otherwise the restriction can simply be changed in Settings. Website filtering is a useful control, but it should not be treated as a perfect security filter because sites can use alternate domains and web content can also appear inside apps.
