Your iPhone’s Bluetooth name is generally the device name used throughout iOS. Changing the iPhone name can change how it appears to computers, Personal Hotspot users, AirDrop contacts, and some Bluetooth devices.
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap About.
- Tap Name.
- Delete the old name, enter the new device name, and tap Done on the keyboard.
There is not a separate Bluetooth-only name
iOS normally uses the iPhone’s device name rather than providing an independent Bluetooth name field. Changing Name therefore affects more than Bluetooth.
If another device still shows the old name
Disconnect and reconnect the devices. In some cases, forgetting the Bluetooth pairing and pairing again can refresh a cached name.
If your screen looks different
The labels on your screen can vary slightly with the iOS version, region, carrier, or app version. If a menu name is different, use the search field in Settings or update the relevant app before assuming the feature has been removed. After making the change, return to the app or feature and test it so you can confirm that the result matches what you intended.
