Updating apps on your iPhone can be a hassle once you have downloaded a lot of them. Fortunately you can follow these steps so that they update automatically:
- Open the Settings app.
- Choose the iTunes & App Store option.
- Tap the button to the right of Updates.
You can view these steps below with pictures for each step, as well as some additional information.
Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and select the iTunes & App Store option.
Step 3: Tap the button to the right of Updates. There should be green shading around the button when you have enabled automatic app updates.
Note that there is an option under this that says Use Cellular Data. You can turn this on as well if you would like your iPhone to download and install updates even when you are connected to a cellular network. However, if you have a limited amount of data, this could cause you to go over your cap.
In addition to enabling automatic app updates, there are also options on this menu for automatic downloads of music, apps, books, and audiobooks that may have been purchased on other iOS devices that share this Apple ID.
