Your iPhone can show the password for a Wi-Fi network that it knows. This is useful when you need to connect another device or give the password to someone who cannot use Apple’s automatic Wi-Fi password sharing.
View the password for the Wi-Fi network you’re using
- Open Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the information button next to the connected network.
- Tap the Password field.
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone passcode.
- Read or copy the revealed password.
Recent versions of iOS also make saved Wi-Fi credentials available through Apple’s password-management features, which can help when you need a network that you joined previously rather than the one currently connected.
If no password appears, the network may use a sign-in page, enterprise authentication, or another setup that does not rely on a normal shared Wi-Fi password. You also need to authenticate before iOS reveals saved credentials, so someone who merely has an unlocked screen cannot automatically view every stored password.
